Groningen

This post is supposed to be posted 2 months ago. I was too busy… or rather too lazy to talk about Groningen.


Bridges and water everywhere. Well, this is Netherlands.


This is the Groninger Museum. It is built in the middle of a canal!!! It was designed to look like a futuristic dollhouse. Much of the more precious paintings were initially placed in the below-water area. The achitects had proclaimed that this museum will stay dry for at least 200 years. Well, in 1998, the lower museum flooded, and paintings had to be rescued!!!

This is Martinikerk. It was built in the 16th century.
