Rotten day

Rushing against time and AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! The bridge! Come on, close up quick! This is a typical dutch thing. The roads will open up for the ships and boats to pass. All we could do is to wait! I wasted so much energy cycling so fast, and bypassing all the old folks. And now, they are overtaking me!!!

From this photo, you can see people waiting on the opposite side of the road.
Another rotten event: I was making some hotdog sandwiches. Happily squeezing the tubes of ketchup and mayonnaise on my bread. Just as it is done, and i was about to put it in my mouth, i saw little green stuff on the bread! Ah! Why didn't i notice it earlier? Wasted all my sauce! Posted by Picasa

Tandvlees?

See that word "tandvlees"? It's dutch. Let me translate it. "Tand"--> Tooth, "Vlees"-->Meat. It actually means gums. What a disgusting word "toothmeat". After using Aquafresh, i am proud to say that i have healthy teethmeat! Yay!!! Posted by Picasa

Voorschoten

I am surprised that these photos from the camera phone turn out quite good. I love this place. Nice place to sit and stare. Well, i spent 2 hours sitting and staring here, eating my sandwiches, watching the boats pass by. Oh yeah, i saw this boy, probably 8 years old, with his little brother, maybe 5 years old. He was in the speedboat with his little brother. Only both of them. And he was bringing his brother out for a speedboat ride!!! Oh God!!! He is so too young to be controlling a speedboat. Well, he did a good job. No crash... Posted by Picasa

Saturday Night, no Fever.

My eyes hurts from the smoke. My nose choked from the smell. My brain hurts from the alcohol. My heart hurts from the beautiful memories. Saturday Night! Night of fun and entertainment. It's fun! but it's empty, emotionally. How i wish my special guy is here to share the moment with me.
Bartender tries to cheat me of €2. Hey, i am not drunk yet. Give me back my €2. Posted by Picasa

Night in Smaragdlaan.

Beautiful night view. Quiet night. Here, almost nobody goes out at night. The streets are empty. By the way, this is around 9pm. In Singapore, the night would have just started. I would be about to leave my house and go somewhere. Maybe to Newton for supper, maybe to Orchard, just for a walk. No, not supper. My supper isn't so early... Maybe dinner. The streets there are forever busy. You will still see crowds in the middle of the night. The shops here close by 5pm. So if you forget something, that's it. You will have to wait until tomorrow. In Holland, life starts early and ends early. Everybody seems to be up by 7am. In Singapore, 10am is still too early to start the day.

It's a half moon!!

Burnt!

Oh God! I almost burn down the kitchen. My pot is now burned. Very burned. No matter how i scrub it, the burn still do not want to come off. I tried boiling and reboiling. Failed. I tried bleaching overnight. Failed. I tried Soda. Failed. What's next? Sandpaper?

Aaaahhhhhh!!!!!

Busy!!! Busy!!! And busy!!!!! With all the paperwork. Here, every official thing that i need to do takes alot of time. I need to do A, B, C, D..... I cannot do B, C and D before A is done. To do A, i have to get the number of A, call them, request for an appointment, wait 2 days before they call back and confirm an appointment, (which probably will takes place in 2 weeks time), get A done, and repeat the procedures for B, C and D..... Yes it's very organised.. But it takes too much time. I have been here for a month!! but nothing much has been done.

Look at this! It's a school bag hanging on the flag pole! You must be thinking that they don't have any place to hang their laundry or their kid's school bag. Well, how unrespectful are they towards their country's flag. Don't get the wrong idea!!! This is a dutch tradition!!! When a kid passed his exams, he will hang his school bag on the flag pole to announce to everybody that he has passed. So this kid did well for his exams!!! Congrats!!!

Rijswijk!

Disappeared to Rijswijk. I went to Elfi's place. It was nice to see her and Arjan again after almost 2 years. Stayed over their place. Rijswijk is a really quiet town. There are not many things there. No entertainment. Well, Den Haag is just 15min away by bicycle. So it's not so bad. Den Haag is really comparable with Amsterdam in the day.... but at night (or rather after 5pm), it is dead! Everywhere is closed!!!! Posted by Picasa
